I have tendencies...

Ones that drive me nuts. And make me breathe hard. And sweat. And consume my everyday thoughts...

"Did I or did I not close the garage door?? Did I or did I not turn off the straightening iron?? Dammit!"

I definitely have some obsessive/compulsive tendencies. I will often turn the car around to double check the garage door - or sometimes call friends to do a drive by and let me know if it's closed - then I'll have to run inside to make sure the straightening iron was unplugged. It's a very unsettling feeling. And I know that if I didn't do these things, I couldn't focus on anything else until I knew for sure. But I am thankful that it's not to the degree to which some people suffer. (Anyone catch the MTV special about this disorder? Wow.) What a difficult way to live.

So, I would consider my tendencies mild, but annoying just the same. Anyone else have tendencies?

I don't think I have any...but I happen to be married to one of the most obsessive-compulsive people I know. Hands-Down, his tendencies beat yours!!!

(mild tendencies are not all that bad of a trait to have...I might fall on the complete opposite end, I rarely worry/compulse about anything, which can get me into trouble sometimes!)

Yes, I have ALOT of these tendencies! They were not as bad as the MTV special ones but they definatly take up my time. They can really drive both Terry and I crazy!

Just a few of my favorites:
- Making sure the door is locked (I have to touch it twice and go straight to bed)
- I check my alarm six times in a row before I go to bed (press the button) I have to say outloud the time currently, the alarm time, and that it is on - six times. If the number changes in the middle of this I start over. T. hates this one.
- I have the "is this off" one as well.
- I am constantly counting things out, everything has to fall into a number pattern or contain certain numbers.

The thing is, I know it is at least mild OCD b/c it just takes up my thoughts and I can't concentrate and have a feeling of anxiety if I do not do these ritual type things. I don't know if it is genetic or the way one is raised but my sister and mom have it as well, all of us different levels.

P.S. I was totally going to write about this today! haha!

You know, the only "tendency" I have is my tendency to hate germs.

I hate sharing public spaces with people. I'm a carrier of antibacterial stuff at all times. (And yes, I have heard the "Don't kill all of the good bacteria or else" argument a million times.)

The way I see it is, I live in Mexico. The "bad bacteria" FAR out number the "good bacteria."
