My Olympic Moment.

Me and the amazing Ms. Kerri Strug. She of vaulting with a broken ankle but still sticking the landing to win an Olympic gold medal in the 1996 Atlanta games and now a presidential appointee in the Justice Department's Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and training to run her fifth marathon fame. And me, of sitting in the audience appalled that we are the same age and have lead completely different lives fame.

However, I'm about 7 inches taller than she is. So I've got her on that one.

I think it's really commendable that she didn't choose an almost certain career in something gymnastics related. She found something else she was passionate about and pursued it. Good for her.

She seemed really down to earth and was very friendly. Anyone who would allow grubby, perfect strangers to touch their OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL has got to be cool.

She looks VERY small.

(Where, might I ask, were you two? Just out to lunch?)

I'd be willing to be that Ms. Strug doesn't dress NEARLY as cute as you do.

Ha! Yeah, we met for lunch at the new Sonic.

No, she was on campus promoting voting and such for the "Rock the Vote" tour. She lives and works in Washington now.

Whoa. She is tiny. Glad I couldn't make it to OCC afterall. They would have had to break out the uber wide angle lens to get the three of us in there.

Trophy Life - you're right! I have met/been in the company of some fun people lately.

But there are certain opportunities you just don't pass up. Meeting famous people is one of them. I love famous people!

WOW--very cool--I heard she was in town and now I can say I "saw" her at an event--by Proxy of course.

She is a tiny thing isn't she--Bella should have been there to carry her around from event to event

That would be an amazing Sonic commercial...you and the Strugster discussing Fried Ice Cream Blast.

Seriously, that is so cool that you met her. I totally remember watching the Olympics and her specifically. We were GLUED!
